As a psychotherapist and visual artist my abstract work is a way to calm my mind and still the restlessness in my heart. I do not limit myself to any medium, style or concept because my process is an intuitive search for where creativity takes me. Inspiration and ideas change from time to time and I chase after them.
My process seeks to open the locked door of the unconscious through an intuitive play of lines, marks and colors. As I work I rotate the substrate building up layers, allowing figures, shapes, and forms to emerge. Once they have been found, I start to carve out their life and meaning, adding signs and symbols. I leave gaps for viewers to fill as a springboard for their own imaginations. It is my hope that my work invites viewers to a journey of exploration of the mind, thought and emotions of the collective self. |
